When I was in high school, my dad purchased a new and updated Nikon SLR camera. I was blown away by the quality and multifunction settings of the camera. I began doing research of my own to purchase a similar camera. Even though my budget was low, I managed to purchase an updated Nikon SLR camera. I began getting involved with the high school yearbook and found it rewarding to see my photos featured as a long lasting memories. I found sports photography challenging as well as interesting and took the opportunity to improve my skills as my equipment was updated.
I later went off to college and inquired about a position as a sports photographer. The entire athletic department gave me a blank stare as if to say, "what’s that...?” At the time they were a small college slowly expanding and looking for advancements. I later received a phone call stating that I was hired for the position. I attended as many of the 13 sporting departments’ events that I could; hoping to improve the college's sporting programs and information department.
Today, I look to continue this passion and further its success not only in sports, but also in special events like engagements, weddings, and portraits. I continue to grow in my knowledge by utilizing new editing programs, lighting techniques etc. so that each photograph captured is the best it can be. Not only do I continue to love what I do, but hope that you will love the memories I preserve alongside you; because after all a photograph is a moment captured to last a lifetime.
